Tudor Pelagos LHD – drive across the road
Tudor just released a new version of the Pelagos Dive watch, and it's looking a bit old...in the best way.
First, Tudor Pelagos existed before today, as modern dive watches from Tudor's Heritage Black Bay. The Black Bay collection looks back to the best of the past, reclaiming old model numbers and cloaking them in Tudor past: rose on crown, rose logo on dial, 'smiling' rotor on dial Lower half of self-winding text dial part. Pelagos are no-nonsense modern divers, with a 42mm brushed titanium case, pointed crown protector, spring-loaded extension bracelet clasp, helium escape valve, water resistance to 500 meters, and snowflakes set in checkered Chapter ring with slanted hands. Ladies and gentlemen divers, this is a thoroughly contemporary diver that pays homage to tradition with its hands and hour markers.discount replica watch
This is what makes the Tudor Pelagos LHD such an interesting choice today. What we have here is a watch that fits on the right wrist with the crown on the left. The helium escape valve is now located on the right side of the watch. Usually when watchmakers do this, they are actually turning the dial 180 degrees and displaying the date on the other side of the stem, rather than the part of the date wheel directly above the stem. For this, Tudor needed to make the dial specially for this watch, because the dial feet are not symmetrical.
While they were doing this, the designers took the opportunity to directly recall vintage watches. The previously bright, pure white exponents on the old Pelagos are now slightly yellowed and look old. What's interesting about these figures is that instead of normal squares, they don't have a glow around their perimeter, so it frames them like a hand is framed by their perimeter. This is a very nice effect. The dial is matte black and lightly textured to simulate the rough surface that vintage dials can exhibit. The word “Pelagos” on the dial is a single red line reminiscent of some vintage single red Rolex Submariners. The first ref.1680 Rolex Subs from the early 70's had "Submariner" printed in red ink on the dial. Looking back at the original Rolex Datejust, the date wheel is a roulette wheel with even numbers in red and odd dates in black. The bezel remains similar with the faux pearl at 12, although it also matches the dial and hands.cheap watches for sale
It's not just a quick tweak to an existing watch. The new dials, hands, bezel inserts and individually numbered casebacks all had to be created as separate parts from the existing Pelagos collection. Who wears a watch on their right hand? Left-handers, for example, are why the LHD in Tudor Pelagos LHD is shorthand for "left hand drive". On the other hand, divers wear their watches on the right side. Historically, cool guys like Steve McQueen, James Corden, Carroll Shelby, James Cameron, Eddie Cue, and you. Like them, the crown points towards my wrist for most everyday wear. With the Tudor Pelagos LHD, the crown will point towards my fingertips and can be easily adjusted with my left hand while wearing it.
The Tudor Pelagos LHD uses the Tudor-manufactured movement MT5612, equipped with a silicon balance spring and a 70-hour power reserve. Friends, this is a technical diving watch. It comes with a bracelet and silicone strap, so you can wear it comfortably on land and underwater. Tudor has tested the watch to 125% of its rated depth, so you can definitely go up to 500M, and probably go down to 625M without a problem.Replica Franck Muller Watches
